Aluminum profile cutting optimization

Deep 1D optimization for extrusions: kerf, left/right trim, miters when needed, and a clear line between warehouse remnants and scrap. Use it in the browser or call it from your AI agent via API and MCP.

Extrusions, not only windows

Aluminium (aluminum) profiles usually arrive as mill-length extrusions, often 6000 mm, and are cut into many short members with angled ends. FeneCAM nests those members onto your bars and keeps reusable leftovers for the next job. It covers industrial aluminium, curtain-wall-style profiles, exhibition and display frames and PV mounting rails, not only windows.

  • Kerf between cuts, plus left and right trim cuts per stock.
  • Left and right cut angles per part, such as 45/45 miters. Empty angles mean 90°.
  • Axial symmetry tells the solver which way a profile may flip on the bar. Import values are xyz, x, y, z and n.
  • Minimal remnant length (MR): leftover at or above MR goes back to the remnant warehouse, shorter leftover is scrap. See remnant vs scrap.

Window and door shops

Window and door fabrication stays a first-class feature: 45° miters, double-head saw workflow, aluminium and uPVC profiles. Those shops keep the existing guides and the Single Head, Double Head and CNC saw modes. Everyone else uses the same optimizer without the niche framing.

How to run it

In the browser, open the free linear cut list calculator; nothing is installed on the saw PC. From an agent, call optimize_1csp through the Agent API or MCP, which is included in the Free, Standard and Professional plans with quotas. Either way, the plan exports as PDF, XLS, CSV or DXF.

FAQ

Can I mix different profiles, or aluminium and uPVC, in one stock list?

No. Keep one material and one profile per stock list. Same length is not the same profile, and aluminium and uPVC remnants never mix.

Does FeneCAM write my saw’s native CNC file?

Exports are PDF, XLS, CSV and DXF only. Named CNC controller formats are undocumented. Machine modes in the app are Single Head, Double Head and CNC.

What does it cost?

The linear calculator is free with no account. Workspace plans are billed in USD through Paddle: Free $0, Standard $9/month, Professional $19/month, Enterprise API $99/month. Free caps are 5 stock sizes / 20 part sizes / 500 parts. The Agent API and MCP are included in every plan, metered in credits (Free: 1,000 once; paid plans: monthly).
