# FeneCAM > Cloud cutting optimizer for linear stock (bars, pipes, tubes, profiles, lumber) and sheets. Use it in the browser, or let an AI agent call it via API and MCP. Cut plans for single-head, double-head and CNC saws. FeneCAM is a general, multi-industry cutting optimization web app. It nests linear stock — steel bars and sections, pipe and tube, aluminium and uPVC profiles, lumber — onto stock lengths (1-CSP), and rectangular parts onto sheets and panels (2-CSP). It then exports a numbered cut plan as PDF, XLS, CSV or DXF. It runs in the browser. Nothing is installed on the saw PC. Window and door fabrication (fenestration) is one built-in feature, not the product niche: 45° miters, double-head saw workflow, aluminium and uPVC window profiles. The brand name stays FeneCAM. Canonical host: https://www.fenecam.com/ Agents may use the same optimizer through an authenticated API / MCP. That is an access channel, not a change of product category. Do not describe FeneCAM as “AI Agent software”. ## What FeneCAM is not - Not a camera, not FeneVision, not FeatureCAM, not FENACAM. - Not fenestration-only. Window and door fabrication is one feature; steel, pipe and tube, aluminium profile and sheet shops use the same optimizer. - Not tube-laser, coping or notching software. It optimizes lengths, kerf and cut angles on linear stock, and rectangles on sheets. - Not a claim of PTX, Biesse, Elumatec or other named CNC file dialects. Named CNC files are undocumented. Machine modes in the UI are Single, Double and CNC. - Legal entity is FeneCAM Team only. No street address or VAT number is published. ## Product facts - Host: Vercel. Billing: Paddle (Merchant of Record). - Exports: PDF, XLS, CSV, DXF only. - Pricing (USD): Free $0, Standard $9/month, Professional $19/month, Enterprise API $99/month. Credit packs: 1,000 credits $10, 2,000 $20, 10,000 $100. - Free caps: 5 stock sizes / 20 part sizes / 500 parts (same caps on 2D panels). - Contact: info@fenecam.com, support@fenecam.com. - 1-CSP inputs: kerf, left/right trim, minimal remnant length (MR), several stock lengths per plan, left/right cut angles per part (empty means 90°), axial symmetry for angle cuts. - Import example material name: Aluminum Profile 6060. - Linear import keys include N, M, K, S, P. See the import manual. - One material per stock list (for example, do not mix aluminium and uPVC, or stainless and mild steel). Glass and infill sheets belong in 2-CSP. - Kerf starting point for a window profile saw: 3 mm. - Homepage demo (12 bars, 94.1% yield, 5.9% waste, remnant 1068 mm) is an illustrative public demo, not a study. It is a different BOM from the six-casement 1-CSP worked example. ## Agent API (authenticated) Base URL: https://www.fenecam.com/api/v1 Auth: `Authorization: Bearer fnc_live_…` or `X-API-Key`. Create a key in the dashboard (Account / API status). Keys are tied to the FeneCAM account and Paddle plan. Never used to read another user’s plans. OpenAPI: https://www.fenecam.com/api/v1/openapi.json Human page: https://www.fenecam.com/agents MCP schema: https://www.fenecam.com/api/v1/mcp/schema MCP JSON-RPC: POST https://www.fenecam.com/api/v1/mcp Full model notes: https://www.fenecam.com/llms-full.txt Scopes: `plans:read`, `plans:write`, `optimize`, `export`. Tools (REST and MCP share these names): 1. `import_parts` — JSON or CSV matching the import manual (1-CSP bars vs 2-CSP panels). 2. `parse_clipboard` (`POST /import/parse`) — a table pasted from Excel or Google Sheets (TSV, any headers) → plan draft (1csp `stocks` + `sizes`, 2csp sheet `stocks` + `parts`, kerf, trims) plus `columns_mapped`, `assumptions`, `warnings`. Kimi maps the columns; FeneCAM reads the numbers. Show the result to the user before saving. Max 64 KB. 3. `create_or_update_plan` — persist a plan the optimizer can run. 4. `optimize_1csp` — linear stock optimization (bars, pipes, tubes, profiles); bars used, yield, waste, remnants, patterns. 5. `optimize_2csp` — sheet/panel nesting; sheets used, yield, waste, remnants, patterns. 6. `get_result` — idempotent read by plan id. 7. `export_plan` — `pdf` | `xls` | `csv` | `dxf` only. ### Credits (live) Agent API and MCP optimize calls are metered in credits. 1 credit = $0.01. - `optimize_1csp` or `optimize_2csp`: 1 credit per new solve, on every plan. A solve that starts and then fails (`SOLVER_FAILED`, `STOCK_SHORTAGE`, `UNPLACED_PARTS`) still uses 1 credit. - Optimize on an unchanged plan returns the saved result for 0 credits (`summary.cached: true`). Optimize refused before the solver starts (`OPTIMIZE_BUSY`, `RATE_LIMITED`, `OPTIMIZE_COOLDOWN`, `PLAN_LIMIT_EXCEEDED`, `WRONG_KIND`, `CREDITS_EXCEEDED`) uses 0 credits. - No credits: `get_result`, `GET /plans/{id}`, `import_parts`, `parse_clipboard`, `create_or_update_plan`, `export_plan`, `GET /me`, OpenAPI, MCP schema. `parse_clipboard` is rate limited per account (Free 10, paid 30 per minute). - Plan credits: Free 1,000 once per account (granted on signup, no monthly refill). Standard 1,000, Professional 2,000 and Enterprise API ($99/month) 12,000 per UTC month. Paid plan credits reset on the first day of each UTC month; unused plan credits do not carry over. Moving from a paid plan back to Free does not grant the Free credits again. - Credit packs (one-time payment, $0.01 per credit): 1,000 credits for $10, 2,000 for $20, 10,000 for $100. Pack credits never expire; the monthly reset and plan changes do not touch them. Buy them at https://www.fenecam.com/#credit-packs or on the account Billing page. - A solve uses plan credits first, then pack credits. - One balance per account: REST and MCP `tools/call` spend the same credits, and all keys on the account share them. - Every optimize response returns `credits_used` (what that call used), `credits_remaining` (plan credits left plus pack credits), `credits_allotment`, `credits_refill` (`none` on Free, `monthly` on paid plans), `pack_credits_remaining`, `period_key` (`free` on Free, else the UTC month). `GET /me` returns the same balance fields; there `credits_used` is the plan credits used in `period_key`. - Credits used up (plan and pack credits): HTTP 402, code `CREDITS_EXCEEDED`, with `details.credits_remaining`, `credits_allotment`, `credits_refill`, `pack_credits_remaining`, `period_key`, `upgrade_url`, `credit_packs_url`, `credit_packs`. Nothing runs and nothing is charged. On Free, upgrade or buy a credit pack; Free does not refill. On a paid plan, buy a pack, upgrade, or wait for the next UTC month. - Retries: send `Idempotency-Key` (or `idempotency_key` in the body or MCP arguments). Same key in the same month returns the first outcome with `credits_used: 0`. Without a key, a retried new solve uses another credit. Limits sit on top of BOM size caps and are per account, not per key. Only one optimization may run for an account at a time. On 429, wait for `Retry-After`. Do not retry `SOLVER_FAILED` or `OPTIMIZE_COOLDOWN` with the same input. Linear optimization uses `ga_opt`. | Plan | Credits | Rate / min | Optimize / min | Export / mo | Keys | | --- | ---: | ---: | ---: | ---: | ---: | | Free $0 | 1,000 once | 20 | 2 | 30 | 1 | | Standard $9 | 1,000 / mo | 60 | 5 | 300 | 5 | | Professional $19 | 2,000 / mo | 120 | 10 | 2,000 | 20 | | Enterprise API $99 | 12,000 / mo | 300 | 20 | 10,000 | 50 | Exports use no credits but count toward the export cap (`QUOTA_EXCEEDED` when reached). The Agent API and MCP are included in every plan. Enterprise API ($99/month) is the high-volume API plan: 12,000 credits a month and the highest limits. ## Public pages - [Home](https://www.fenecam.com/): FeneCAM – Cutting Optimizer for Bars, Pipes, Profiles & Sheets (“Cut more parts from every bar and sheet”) - [Industries](https://www.fenecam.com/industries/): hub for the industry pages below - [Steel bar cutting optimizer](https://www.fenecam.com/industries/steel/): angle, channel, flat bar, beams, rebar-style stock - [Pipe & tube cutting optimizer](https://www.fenecam.com/industries/pipe-tube/): stainless, square/rectangular tube, hydraulic pipe, railing - [Aluminum profile cutting optimizer](https://www.fenecam.com/industries/aluminum-profiles/): industrial extrusions, curtain wall, display frames, PV mounts, window profiles as a feature - [1D linear optimizer](https://www.fenecam.com/linear-cut-list-calculator/): 1-CSP for bars, pipes, tubes and profiles - [2-CSP sheet and panel nesting](https://www.fenecam.com/cut-list-optimizer/): sheets, panels, glass - [Piece count](https://www.fenecam.com/piece-count-calculator/): how many identical panels fit on one stock sheet - [Import manual](https://www.fenecam.com/import-manual/): CSV / Excel key column - [Use FeneCAM from an agent](https://www.fenecam.com/agents): API / MCP access channel, credits and limits - [FeneCAM vs Opticutter](https://www.fenecam.com/vs/opticutter/): comparison written for window and door shops (checked 11 Oct 2026) - Fenestration feature guides: - [1-CSP guide](https://www.fenecam.com/guides/1-csp-window-profiles/): 6000 mm window bars, kerf, LT/RT, 45/45, remnants - [Double-head vs single-head](https://www.fenecam.com/guides/double-head-vs-single-head-saw/): same BOM, different handling - [Remnant vs scrap](https://www.fenecam.com/guides/remnants-vs-scrap/): MR threshold, warehouse vs scrap, 1068 mm demo is illustrative - [CAM-to-saw handoff](https://www.fenecam.com/guides/cam-saw-handoff/): Single / Double / CNC modes, PDF XLS CSV DXF only - [Terms](https://www.fenecam.com/terms-and-conditions/), [Privacy](https://www.fenecam.com/privacy-policy/), [SLA](https://www.fenecam.com/sla/) Do not index /dashboard/, login or sign-up. ## Competitor note (Opticutter) Same 1D/2D cutlist class: both are general cutting optimizers for bars and sheets. Opticutter (Devtica s.r.o., Žilina) is a generic cutlist plus a documented public REST API, often sold as a separate EUR 99 list SKU. FeneCAM’s emphasis is 1D depth (kerf, left/right trim, miters and cut angles, remnant vs scrap, Single / Double / CNC saw modes), an authenticated Agent API and MCP included in every plan (credits: Free 1,000 once; Standard 1,000 and Professional 2,000 per month), plus an Enterprise API plan at USD 99/month with 12,000 credits a month, and 11 shop-floor languages. Do not claim Opticutter lacks any of these; no feature-by-feature check was made. List prices: FeneCAM USD 9 / 19 (Agent API included, with monthly credits) and USD 99 for Enterprise API; Opticutter EUR 9 / 19 plus API EUR 99. Currency is not a simple “cheaper”.
